ALL ABOUT WATER!
Water covers 75% of the surface of planet Earth. Why is our planet special concerning water? Look at the following diagram about water distribution on Earth: what is the percentage of fresh water in our planet? How much water is available for human consumption? If we were to represent all the water on the planet in 100 litre bottles only three would be fresh water. Of these three liters, the amount available for human consumption could fit a tablespon! What is the difference between a renewable and a non renewable resource? What type of resource is water? The way in which water is recycled is called the water cycle. What do you remember about it? Try to describe one way a water droplet could move through the water cycle from the ocean and back. You can use the following terms: evaporation, transpiration, condensation, precipitation, infiltration and surface runoff. Is water availability the same in all the world? Why is water a scarce resource?
